The Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area encompasses a unique archipelago of 34 islands. The oldest lighthouse in the United States is located on one of the islands, and there are plenty of opportunities for hiking, picnicking and fishing. The area is also home to a variety of wildlife, making it a great spot for birdwatching. The Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area has a rich cultural history that goes back thousands of years.
